Jun. 4, 2008: Radio producer and webmaster extroardinaire Ed Nielson took this photo recently on another trek into America's great wilderness. My comment? "Way too close, Ed...way too close." Thanks always to Ed for taking care of the site!

What's Playing: Into The Wild
For June I am recommending a movie I just Netflixed, Into the Wild starring Emile Hirsch. Based on a true story written by Jon Krakour, (Into Thin Air) this movie is a slow, thoughtful ramble that follows a free-spirited young man -reminiscent of a modern-day Thoreau -who is looking for ultimate freedom and the casting off of the material through a solitary journey to Alaska. He affects many other road travelers along the way, as his family awaits his return at home and suggests some reasons for his abandonment of society. Wonderfully acted all around with supporting actors Hal Holbrook, Catherine Keerner, William Hurt and Marcia Gay Harden. Get the tissues out... See it in June!

Recommended Reading
For June I am recommending the book The Seven Pillars of Health, by Dr. Don Colbert. Written in easy-to-understand language, this reasonably presented, upbeat book reminds you about the basics of good health - hydrating you body, getting enough rest, coping with stress, and detoxifying - in a way that will make you want to take better care of yourself ,minus all the confusion and hype of modern "remedies." My mom sent me this book, and I'm glad she did! (Written by a Christian who references the Bible in places in the book, this is good solid health information for people of every faith.) Check it out today, and start feeling a lot better - for free!.
